THE KNIGHT RIDER

WISH MOVIE,LUCIEN GREY REMAKE: THE KNIGHT RIDER.

As a kid growing up, one of my favourite television shows was The Knight Rider, the team of Michael Knight (David Hasselhoff) and his amazing car KITT went through many adventures and thrills together. Devon(Edward Mulhare) always worried about Michaels approach and attitude to their mission, but someway somehow they always came through. With the big truck Goliath and technician Bonnie KITT and Michael were sure to be ok.
If given the funding and the go ahead to bring this hit series from the Eighties to the big screen in the 21st century there are a lot of things that would definitely have to change.
Firstly I would not even try to find a Michael Knight, saying this , I mean I wouldn’t try to replace the character of Michael Knight played by David Hasselhoff. What I would do is create a whole new Michael Knight. Picture this, Jason Priest is a former navy seal turned undercover cop that has gone in deep for close to two years , when he finds out , that men in his unit has a huge hand in an expanding drug empire. Just as he is about to expose them they kill everyone that knows about his undercover work and erase all records of his existence, they kill him too, at least they try to.
Jason wakes up two months later out of a deep coma. He looks at the mirror and doesn’t recognize the man there, he has a new face. He meets a man Howard Yeager , who tells him that they saved his life and gave him a new identity, the current situation Is explained to him.
He is told that he is now Michael Knight , the new Michael Knight( the old one has retired) and they explain to him all what the Knight Foundation is about He initially isn’t crazy about the idea and bails on them. Later on after coming back he is introduced to KITT of the 21st century.
Naturally this can not be a Trans Am. It has to be a new , slick two seater car. Some of the old features of KITT are going to have to go, cause modern day audiences are not going to buy them. A sonic speed mode(0 – Mach 1), camouflage or invisibility mode, ability to create a hologram around it’s self to give the illusion of something else. Ability to convert to a speed boat or hover craft. This Knight Rider is going to be a bad ass, martial arts expert. No more ridiculous or cheesy fight scenes , this is gonna be some serious stuff. There also have to be guns and weapons in this KITT. Fortunately or unfortunately , this new KITT might not talk as much, since a lot of cars these days do that. It would basically be an instruction and advice giver on how to tackle a situation with the car.
Taking this approach would guarantee a high octane action movie that would have the new generation that never saw the show looking for reruns.
